Omnicomm sells its 500,000th fuel level sensor

Omnicomm, an international high-tech industrial company, one of the leading developers and manufacturers of fuel monitoring solutions and various equipment for fleet management, announced that it has sold its 500,000th fuel level sensor. This number ranks the company among global leaders in fuel telematics market.

The company’s management comments, 75% of the product sells out in the domestic market, while 25% of sensors are exported abroad. During the last five years the sales volume increased by more than 10 times: 13,700 sensors were vended in 2009, while in 2013 this figure reached 146,000 items. According to recent Berg Insight industry report, Omnicomm holds 65% of Russian fuel telematics market and is actively heading globally. With partner network of 2000 companies, Omnicomm’s products are distributed to over 100 countries worldwide.
The industries where fuel level sensors are in demand, according to Omnicomm, are oil and gas (40%), construction (25%), transportation (20%), agriculture (7%), mining (5%) and housing services (3%).
Omnicomm LLS fuel level sensor is the first in history capacitive fuel sensor. Invented in 2003 by a group of specialists inspired by the company’s CEO Mr. Boris Pankov, capacitive fuel level sensors in bundle with fleet management system have become the industry’s standard. “Our sensors are totally an “in-house” development. It is our flagship product. Each item undergoes 6 levels of quality control which insures 100% serial repeatability and eliminates possibility of malfunctions”, - Mr. Boris Pankov, Omnicomm CEO commented.

The product has been constantly modified both in hardware and electronics to improve design and mechanisms. The level of accuracy now constitutes 99,2%. The sensor is selected as official measurement equipment. Despite road surface, driving behavior, weather conditions, a fleet owner receives highly accurate fuel level readings which allows for optimization of fleet expenses up to 50% a month. Such precision of results is reached thanks to another Omnicomm’s invention – the Fuel Metrix technology. It levels the incorrect values via a special complex algorithm. Speaking of convenience for driver, a fuel gauge can be mounted in the cab of a vehicle. It transmits the data right from the tank. The driver can track online the exact amount of fuel in the tank define when he needs to top up next. “The world knows various fuel consumption monitoring solutions. The only thing they can’t boast of is accuracy and reliability. It is exactly these two factors that give confidence to our partners and customers”, - Mr. Pankov added.
Omnicomm LLS product line includes 3 capacitive digital fuel level sensors. Omnicomm LLS 20160 is considered the most popular in the market, suitable for heavy vehicles and machinery. LLS 20310 AF, the most universal one, is for terminals with analogue outputs. And finally, LLS 20230 was designed specifically to meet explosion-proof requirements. In the nearest future Omnicomm plans to introduce a new updated model.
